Coastal Tour

“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it.” – Lao Tzu

Today, I got to see the beach on a sunny day as I drove along the coast with Robin. Cannon Beach was quite overcast and drizzly when I went last week, so I was happy to see the beach on what Robin said was a rare bright day, as he said we’re in the rainiest county in the rainiest state.

The day began at 7 a.m., when Sven met me to escort me here. After a long drive and getting settled, Robin and I ran some errands and began the tour. Robin’s dog, Breezy, accompanied us – she’s a sweetie, and featured in the above picture.

We continued to drive a bit further, and stopped by the Pelican Pub for some amazing burgers and fries. It was probably one of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten, and to be honest, I’m still completely stuffed hours later. Yum-o! Good food and good conversation are a great combination for a lovely lunch overlooking the water.
Once we finished our long lunch, we walked down to the water. To say it was cool would be a slight understatement. People have to wear wet suits to surf or swim — brrr!
We drove through a couple of other small beach towns, and I was able to get a good look at coastal life. It’s simple and beautiful and peaceful, and definitely worth the drive.
Until next time,
